IranMobile FAQ Sheet
Isn't Iran developing nuclear weapons?
No. At least that's what the 16 government intelligence agencies agree on.[1]
We don't KNOW that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program. They could start it up at any time. We aren't safe!
Actually, we do know. See National Intelligence Estimate cited above.
Isn't Iran adding the insurgency in Iraq?
Doesn't Iraq have weapons of mass destruction? This administration offers scattered anecdotal
evidence to support their claim that Iran is directly adding the insurgency in Iraq. The very
same evidence they used to support the invasion of Iraq.
The president just said "all options are on the table". What's wrong with keeping all our options open?
When this President says "all options are on the table," he immediately takes every
option other than the military option off the table. If the government of Iran feels
that Washington is bent on attacking their country, then what incentive do they have
to open up diplomatic channels. Especially, when they do not believe this country will
deal in good faith.
Isn't Iran our sworn enemy? What about all those "death to America" rallies?
The right-wing spin machine would want you to think so. Are there people in Iran that
disagree with US policies in the Middle East, sure. Just like there are people in this
country who want to bomb Iran. Don't allow the views of a small group of people shape
how you feel about the entire population. If you can feel that bombing Iran is a bad
idea, even though a group of Americans desperately wants to do it, then an Iranian can
not want "death to America" even though some in their country do.
How can you drive around this 10 mpg car, contributing to global warming, and still call yourselves progressives?
Bombing Iran would have a much worse effect on the environment than driving around this car
will. Also, TrueMajority.org will be working on a comprehensive global warming campaign
through November. That should even things out.
We have to be strong in the world to keep safe. We should keep up a strong threat, to keep Iran down.
When the United States keeps up such a strong threat with other nations, it only drives
those nations to find a deterrent. The only deterrent to overwhelming US military might
is the development of nuclear weapons. This is exactly what we are hoping to avoid.
General Questions
What is "Not ANOTHER War"?
It's a project of Truemajority.org to stop the march to war with Iran by the right-wing spin machine.
How did you get the idea? What's the deal with the bomb?
The image, reminiscent of the final scene of the anti-war movie "Dr. Strangelove," is pretty much seared
into the memory of Americans when they think of ridiculous military aggression.
What are you hoping to accomplish?
Most Americans don't want the U.S. to attack Iran, and think that's a terrible idea - our job
is to make that opinion visible and give people something to rally around.
*Background proof: "In a USA Today/Gallup poll on November 2-4, 2007 the question "What do you
think the United States should do to get Iran to shut down its nuclear program: take military
action against Iran, or rely mainly on economic and diplomatic efforts?", a large majority (73
percent) preferred economic/diplomatic efforts, with 18 percent favoring military action. In
the following poll question, an absolute majority (55 percent) directly opposed military action
against Iran even if "U.S. economic and diplomatic efforts do not work."

Are you supporting a particular candidate?
No, we would like all candidates running for office to represent American citizens'
objection to another war.
What else are you doing with this campaign?
This is our first time out with our vehicle, but we are planning to take it to locations
around the country to coalesce the feelings Americans have about not starting another war.
Our members all around the country have donated money specifically to get this message
out there, and we'll be touring the country to protest events with those members and the
many other groups who are opposing yet another war, taking that energy face to face with
other members of Congress. We'll be helping those citizens support specific legislation
to put the brakes on the war machine, and to spread the real facts about the trumped-up
non-threat of Iran.
Where can people find out more?
People can visit www.notanotherwar.org or www.truemajority.org to find out more about
the campaign and what TrueMajority.org is doing to prevent war with Iran.
